Dinner with Friends, an award-winning play directed by Feroz Khan and featuring Perizaad Zorabian Irani, Tisca Chopra, Vinay Jain and Joy Sengupta was staged on December 4 at Shilpakala Vedika. The play intimately examines the effects of the break-up of one couple on another and the nature of friendship itself. When Dia tells her best friend Maya that her husband Harsh is leaving her for another woman, Maya and husband Vikram immediately line up along gender lines. But when Harsh explains his side, Vikram is forced to examine his own seemingly tranquil marriage.

As timelines blur, the four friends are seen going through their past, present and future. The play exposes the universal insecurities people face when there are shattering changes in their lives. This play takes an indepth look at contemporary relationships which makes you think even after leaving the auditorium. The highlight of the play was the performances rendered by the artistes. The audience was rapt with attention as the lives of each of the character unfolded before them on stage. Excellent lighting was an added bonus that helped in bringing the expressions of the actors on focus. Perizaad Zorabian portrayed the role of Maya. She was paired opposite Joysen Gupta who played Vikram. The character of Diya was played by Tisca chopra who was paired opposite to Vinay Jain. He essayed the role of Harsh in the play.
